I was reading Guruphilia when I got thinking about religious leaders. A pious man or Man of God is someone we have heard about or seen personally so many times in our lives. Most of these people, with a very small exception, are large scale landlords and powerful people. Take anyone you know who calls himself an avatar and think about the estates he/organization owns and the money that is actually being spent on the people. Everybody seems to get lots of money ( that goes into building colleges, hospitals, schools where the poor or the common folk can never dream to enter ) which is used to make more money. Where does the money come from? Us, yes its true, people donate money thinking they are doing God a favor and reserving a place in heaven.
Do we seriously think that money can buy us a place in heaven. Is this a train reservation counter where we pay the money and get a counterfoil that says you have been reserved seat so-and-so? What a load of bull and crap. I have never seen or heard of the Bible or for that matter any religious book asking to donate money or give money to an individual. Every Holy book asks us to take care of our fellow human beings who are not as lucky as we were. Money can be spent on your fellow beings where its needy and not where there is plentiful. A Man of God is a simple man who has meagre wants and spreads the word of God, not a money monger who has a raging business running solely on the word of God.
A world will be a better place when we learn to trust in ourselves and God directly without the middle man. When in doubt taking the advise of wordly people of men of God is perfectly fine. But relying on them completely and only them rather than on yourself and God is NOT the right thing to do.
What do you say people?
Is it me or is it really me...
